Pick It Up
The Froot Gallery provided me with antique ceramic fragments and invited me to transform them into jewellery. These historical objects carry deep cultural memory and are closely tied to my own background. I present them as if they are resting at an archaeological site—quiet, fragile, and suspended in time. The surrounding structures have vanished, yet their presence endures. Even in fragmentary form, their beauty and meaning continue to reach us. This project brings together three ceramic materials: one from China, where I was born; one from Canada, where I now live; and one from Germany, where these works were exhibited for the first time. Together, they form a layered reflection on history, migration, and continuity.
